Additional information

Studies are available for the standard aquatic trophic levels fish, Daphnia, algae and aquatic microorganisms. For zebra fish (Danio rerio) and Daphnia magna,short-term tests have been performed. Long-term tests are not required. The risk assessment based on short-term tests does not indicate the need to investigate further the effect of triallyl cyanurate on aquatic organisms (please refer to the chemical safety report). Fish are the most sensitive organism group when being exposed to triallyl cyanurate resulting in a LC50 (96 h) of 7.05 mg/L. As the acute endpoint is in the range of 1 mg/L to 10 mg/L and the substance is not readily biodegradable, the substance is classified according to Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 as H411 (Chronic Category 2) ('Toxic to aquatic life with long-lasting effects'). Furthermore, it has to be labelled with the respective pictogram.
