Additional information
The water solubility of Triallyl cyanurate has been determined in a GLP-study according to OECD guideline 105 and EU-method A.6. By using the shake flask method, 100 mg test substance were diluted in 15 mL water and shaken at for 72h, 120 h and 168 h. The samples were filtered and analysed by HPLC. The substance is moderately soluble in water at 328 mg/L at 20°C (approx. pH 8).
The first test samples have been incubated for 24 h to 72 h and showed the tendency of increasing concentration values. Therefore the test has been repeated using longer equilibrations times. The three samples of the second test showed no tendency of increasing concentrations after 120 h and 168 h shaking time and revealed a standard deviation of 7.1%.
The result is supported by a second GLP-conform study, in which a solubility of the test substance in water of 308 mg/L (at pH 6.4, 72 h) at 20 °C has been measured. This study has been initiated to determine the logKow value of the test substance by separate measurement of the solubility in water and octanol. The water solubility has been measured according to OECD TG 105 as part of this study. Additionally the water solubilty has been determined at different pH values and showed no remarkably significant differences. The test substance is soluble at 333 mg/L, 247 mg/L and 284 mg/l at pH 4, pH 7 and pH 9, respectively.
Due to the fact, that the water solubilty has been measured several time and resulted in consistent values, the water solubility of 328 mg/L for Triallyl cyanurate is considered reliable.
