of 813 mg/kg dry weight and a 28 day IC50 value
of 767 mg/kg dry weight have been determined for the effects of D5 on
mortality and reproduction of Folsomia candida. A

There are no data describing the
long-term toxicity of the registered substance to terrestrial
arthropods. However, an OECD TG 222 earthworm reproduction study is
being conducted with the registered substance. The earthworm is the
standard organism for soil macroorganisms and there is no indication
that arthropods would be any more susceptible.
In the interim period,
before the data with the registered substance become available, data are
read across from the siloxane decamethylcyclopentasiloxane (D5, CAS:
541-02-6; EC No. 208-764-9) with terrestrial arthropods.
A 28-day LC50
value of 813 mg/kg dry weight and a 28-day IC50 value of 767
mg/kg dry weight have been determined for the effects of the test
substance on mortality and reproduction of Folsomia candida
(Velicogna et al., 2011). A NOEC of 377 mg/kg dry weight has been
determined by the reviewer on the basis of a visual examination of the
data for both mortality and reproduction.
These data are used as the starting
point for derivation of the PNECsoil of the registered substance.
Refer to IUCLID Sections 6.0 and
6.3 (CSR Sections 7.0 and 7.2) for further discussion.
