The vapour pressure of the test item has been determined using a method
designed to be compatible with that specified in the current OECD
Guidelines for Testing, Guideline No. 104 (OECD, 2006). The vapour
pressure of the test item was determined to be 0.38 Pa at 25 °C. A
slight, but gradual drop in vapour pressure was then observed on
repeated temperature cycling of the test item over the range 28 to 38 °C
(under vacuum), with individual values in the range 0.29 to 0.21 Pa for
ten consecutive runs. Such characteristics, indicative of the gradual
reduction of the more volatile fractions in the test item, was as
anticipated based on the fact that the test item contains
Bis(2-ethylhexylthioglycolate) dimethyl tin and thio ester as
impurities. To provide representative data for risk assessment on
potential atmospheric emissions of the test item, the initial, highest
value obtained was taken as the definitive result.
