Description of key information

Dissociation constant (substance): not relevant
Dissociation constant (hydrolysis product): pKa ca. 10

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

In contact with water the substance hydrolyses to form 2 -(3,4 -epoxycyclohexy)ethyl silanetriol and ethanol. The silanol hydrolysis product is expected to have a first dissociation constant of ca. 10 based on a read-across from the related substance phenylsilanetriol.

In accordance with section 1 of REACH Annex XI, the study does not need to be conducted because there are no ionizable groups present in the molecule.
