Additional information

The biodegradability of Fatty acids, C16-18 and C18-unsatd., hexaesters with dipentaerythritol (CAS 68604-38-6) was tested in a GLP guideline study conducted according to OECD 301 B (Ready Biodegradability: CO2 evolution test). After a test period of 28 days biodegradation of the substance was not observed under the test conditions. Thus the substance is considered as not readily biodegradable according to OECD criteria. Based on the result a degradation of the substance by microorganisms in aquatic and terrestrial environments is not expected. Therefore in accordance with Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006, column 2, 9.2.1.2 - 9.2.1.4, further simulation tests on biodegradation in water and sediment or soil were not performed since deviating results are not expected.
