Additional information

Due to the physico-chemical properties such as low water solubility (< 0.15 mg/L), low volatilization potential (VP < 0.00001 Pa) and log Koc (> 5), Fatty acids, C16-18 and C18-unsatd., hexaesters with dipentaerythritol (CAS 68604-38-6) is expected to mainly distribute to soil and sediment. According to the Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment, Chapter R7.b (ECHA, 2012) once insoluble chemicals enter a standard sewage treatment plant, these substances are expected to be removed from the water column to a significant degree by adsorption to sewage sludge. Therefore the release to surface waters, and thereby exposure of sediment and soil, is considered as marginally.
