Additional information

Evaporation of Fatty acids, C16-18 and C18-unsatd., hexaesters with dipentaerythritol (CAS 68604-38-6) to the atmosphere is not expected due to the low vapour pressure of the substance components. Thus indirect photodegradation is no relevant pathways for the substance since the substance is not likely to be present in the atmosphere. Calculated values on photodegradation indicate that the substance will be rapidly degraded with half-lives ranging from 51.08 minutes up to 2.87 h for the substance components. Due to the low water solubility (<0.15 mg/L; Frischmann, 2012) abiotic hydrolysis is considered as not relevant for the substance. This is supported by calculated half-lives > 1 year for the substance components.
