The boiling point and decomposition of the test material was determined in two studies using differential scanning calorimetry. Under the conditions of the tests, the test material was found to decompose immediately following melting and, as such, the boiling point cannot be determined. In air, decomposition was found to occur at temperatures above 179 °C.

The study by Geoffroy was selected as the key study for this endpoint as more information on results was presented in the study report. Both studies were performed in line with GLP and either to accepted standardised guidelines or to sound scientific principles with a high standard of reporting. Both studies were assigned a reliability score of 1 in accordance with the principles of assessing data quality outlined in Klimisch (1997), and considered suitable for assessment as an accurate reflection of the test material.

The available data are considered to be complete and the result determined, the test material decomposes before boiling (decomposition commences at 179 °C), was carried forward for risk assessment.
