Description of key information

2,3 -Epoxypropyl neodecanoate was evaluated for acute aquatic toxicity in an O.E.C.D. Testing Guideline 202, "Daphnia sp., Acute Immobilisation Test and Reproduction Test".

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Fresh water invertebrates

Fresh water invertebrates
Effect concentration:
4.8 mg/L

Additional information

Complete immobilisation of the Daphnids was observed at concentrations of 2,3 -epoxy propyl neodecanoate of 20 mg/L and higher. The 24 hr and 48 hr EC50 values for D. magna were calculated to be 10 mg/L and 4.8 mg/L respectively. For the 48 hr EC50 value of 4.8 mg/L, the 95% confidence limits were 4.0—5.7 mg /L.
