Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information
Additional information
2,3 -Epoxypropyl neodecanoate was demonstrated by both QSAR modeling and experimental results to have a relatively rapid rate of photodegradation in the atmosphere a half-life of 0.9 - 1.1 days. 2,3 -Epoxypropyl neodecanoate was biodegraded approximately 7 - 11% and is therefore, not readily biodegradable. However, when 2,3 -epoxypropyl neodecanoate was evaluated in an "Inherent Biodegradability: Modified SCAS Test" the level of biodegradation reached 68% +/- 5% over days 22 to 36 of the study. In an O.E.C.D. test guideline no. 302C Modified MITI (II) Test the test substance had a mean percent biodegradation of -1% after 28 days of sludge contact. The weight-of-evidence demonstrated that 2,3 -epoxypropyl neodecanoate does not biodegrade. 2,3 -epoxypropyl neodecanoate does not meet the criteria for PBT. The estimated Log Pow for 2,3 -epoxypropyl neodecanoate of 2.6 suggests a low potential for bioaccumulation. Furthermore, the experimentally determined Log Koc of 2.16 suggest that the test substance has a low potential to adsorp to sediment and soil. Abiotic hydrolysis studies have demonstrated that the test substance has a half-life of 8.8 to 9.9 days over a pH range of 4 to 9 at 25 degrees C. The Mackay Level I Fugasitiy model predicted that approximately 99.7% of 2,3 -epoxypropyl neodecanoate would partition into the air compartment. Due to its lower volatility, the hydrolyzed diol form was predicited to partition approximately 74.4% to the water compartment and 25% to the soil compartment.
