Description of key information

The atmospheric hydroxy radical induced photodegradation half-life of 2,3-epoxypropyl neodecanoate was determined to be 0.9 - 1.1 days suggesting that this substance will degrade at a relatively rapid rate in the air phase.

The atmospheric photodegradation of 2,3 -epoxypropyl neodecanoate was determine by AOPWIN QSAR estimation and an O.E.C.D. Draft Guideline "Photochemical Oxidative Degradation in the Atmosphere" study. The result of 1.1 days from the AOPWIN QSAR model was supported by the experimental value of 0.9 days from the O.E.C.D. guideline study. These data suggest that the test substance is subject to a relatively rapid rate of photodegradation in the atmosphere.
