DSC EXPERIMENT

During cooling to -90°C no crystallization of the substance was observed.

STORAGE EXPERIMENT WITH VISUAL OBSERVATION

After storage at -22 and at -82°C the substance was observed to be a liquid and a very viscous liquid, respectively. According to this it was concluded that the freezing temperature of the substance is < -80°C (< 193K).

The storage experiment in freezer is not a guidance method but appeared to be a good method for confirmation of the DSC result. The conclusion is therefore based on both experiments.

Conclusions:
The freezing point of IFF 09-0035 is < -80°C.
Executive summary:

In a thermal DSC experiment (according to EC A.1 and OECD TG 102) it was determined that the substance has no freezing point down to -90°C. In an additional experiment it was visually observed that the substance did not solidify after storage for 19 hours at -21.6 ± 0.2°C and at -81.6 ± 1.8°C. From the results of both experiments it is concluded that the freezing point of IFF 09-0035 is < -80°C.
