Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
viscosity
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study with acceptable restrictions
Qualifier:
equivalent or similar to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Test Guideline 114 (Viscosity of Liquids)
Principles of method if other than guideline:
Dynamic viscosity (Ƞ) of a Newtonian solvent is generally measured by viscosimeters. Rheometers are used to measure the flow behaviour of viscous fluids, including oils.[1] In this study, Ƞ was calculated by using a rotational rheometer which has recorded changes in solvent viscosity with temperature (°C). Ƞ is measured in Pa s or mPa s (cp).
