Description of key information

In the pre-test the test substance was not solid at -20 °C; complete solidification occurred only at -80 °C.
Therefore, according to REACH annex VII, column 2 of section 7.2 the determination of the freezing point does not need to be conducted below a lower limit of -20 °C and the freezing point of 3,3,4,4,5,5,6,6,7,7,8,8,8-Tridecafluorooctyl acrylate should be stated as < -20 °C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Melting / freezing point at 101 325 Pa:
-80 °C

Additional information

A study conducted according to international guidelines ( OECD 102 and EU A1) of Klimish rate 1 is available.

The study clearly shows that the solidification of the substance is below -20 °C and hence according to REACH (Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006) the determination of the freezing does not need to be conducted.
