Description of key information

Biodegradation in water: screening tests: 2% biodegradation in 28 days (O2 consumption) (OECD 301C)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Biodegradation of 2% in 28 d (O2consumption) was determined in a reliable study conducted according to an appropriate test protocol, and in compliance with GLP. GC-MS analysis indicated that the test substance was partially converted to trimethylsilanol. This is likely to have resulted in the apparent degradation observed based on test material analysis. It is concluded that the test substance and trimethylsilanol were not biodegradable.
