Description of key information

The partition coefficient of Stearic acid, esters with methyl α-D-glucoside was estimated using ACDLabs software program. The calculation yielded log P of 7.67; 16.61; 24.83; 33.18 for mono-, di-, tri- and tetraester and log P of -2.68; 7.83 for methylglucoside and stearic acid respectively.

Additional information

No experimental result on partition coefficient of the Stearic acid, esters with methyl α-D-glucoside is available.

Stearic acid, esters with methyl α-D-glucoside is a substance of variable composition containing the mixture of all isomers of mono- to tetraesters and free carboxylates (acids) moeities. Because of technical difficulty to perform an experimental study on a substance of complex chemical nature, an in silico method was conducted to get a hint on the physico-chemical data.

The partition coefficient of Stearic acid, esters with methyl α-D-glucoside was estimated using ACDLabs software program. The calculation yielded log P of 7.67; 16.61; 24.83; 33.18 for mono-, di-, tri- and tetra ester and log P of -2.68; 7.83 for methylglucoside and stearic acid respectively.

Similar results were obtained applying EpiWeb v4.00, KOWWIN v1.68. The calculation yielded log Kow: 7.09; 13.91; 22.37 and 30.38 for for mono-, di-, tri- and tetraester respectively.

Due to missing information about the applicability of the calculation these models in respect to the substance under investigation the result should be treated with care.
