Description of key information

The partition coefficient n-octanol/water (Log Kow) of Perfluoro N-methylmorpholine (FC-3284) was determined to be 4.3 at 23 °C using EPA OPPTS 830.7550 (Partition Coefficient, n-octanol / H2O, Shake Flask Method).

The partition coefficient n-octanol/water of FC-3284 was measured based on U.S EPA guidance document OPPTS 830.7550 “Partition Coefficient (n-Octanol/Water), Shake Flask Method”, and was conducted under GLP. Duplicate samples of FC-3284 were shaken in octanol/water mixture ratios of 1:1, 1:2 and 2:1 at 23 °C. The aqueous and n-octanol phases were separated and analyzed using Purge and Trap and Gas Chromatography/Mass spectrometry. The log Kow of FC-3284 was determined to be 4.3 at 23°C.
