Applicant's summary and conclusion
- Conclusions:
- The boiling temperature of the test material has been estimated to be in the range 320 °C - 430 ° at 101.6 kPa.
- Executive summary:
The determination was carried out by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) using the procedure specified in ASTM E537-86, Method A2 Boiling Temperature of Council Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 of 30 May 2008.
The Lanfa 2 (Lanolin Fatty acids) was prepared for analysis using Differential Scanning Calorimeter (DSD) pans. The samples were analysed using a DSC using temperature prgram of 20 °C per minute. The objective was to determine physical properties for both chemicals for REACH data.
From the measurements obtained the boiling point and decomposition characteristics have been estimated. As the samples are a complex mixture (UVCB) rather than pure materials the boiling point and decomposition points can only be estimated as a range rather than an actual result.
