Applicant's summary and conclusion
- Conclusions:
- The melting temperature of the test material has been estmated to be in the range 35 °C - 65 ° at 101.6 kPa.
- Executive summary:
The determination was carried out by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) using the procedure specified in ASTM E537-86, Method A2 Boiling Temperature of Council Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 of 30 May 2008.
The Argowax (Lanolin Alcohols) was prepared for analysis using Differential Scanning Calorimeter (DSD) pans. The samples were analysed using a DSC using temperature prgram of 20 °C per minute. The objective was to determine physical properties for both chemicals for REACH data.
From the measurements obtained the melting point characteristics have been estimated. As the samples are a complex mixture (UVCB) rather than pure materials the boiling point and decomposition points can only be estimated as a range rather than an actual result.
