Description of key information

The test product was an MMVF note Q fibre (i.e. Roxul 1000 fibres). Sample No FI990571 -00 was tested for acute toxic effects on juvenile zebra fish (Danio rerio) according to the OECD guideline for Testing of Chemicals No 203 " Fish Acute Toxicity Test". No mortality or behavioural effects were observed during the test. The LC10 and LC50 values are thus indicated as > 1.60 mg "Roxul 1000 fibres: sample No FI990571 -00" (>1000 mg/L).

Additional information

Man-made vitreous fibres (MMVF) note Q fibres and E-glass micro fibre have similar physical and chemical properties (most importantly both are highly insoluble and inert inorganic solid fibres). It is thus evaluated that results of a guideline GLP study, which was carried out using MMVF note Q fibres as the test substance is also applicable here to E-glass microfibre. Below evaluation was made using the results of MMVF note Q fibres study.

No mortality or behavioural effects were observed during the test. The LC10 and LC50 values are thus indicated as > 1.60 mg "Roxul 1000 fibres: sample No FI990571 -00" (>1000 mg/L).
