Key value for chemical safety assessment

Justification for classification or non-classification

This substance meets the criteria to allow adaptation of the requirement for testing for carcinogenicity. Its properties suggest that it is not likely to be a carcinogen, as so is not classified as such.

Additional information

This substance meets the criteria to allow adaptation of the requirement for testing for carcinogenicity. The substance is not mutagenic, nor is there widespread dispersive use of this substance (a polymer additive). There is no evidence from the repeated dose study(ies) that the substance induces hyperplasia and/or pre-neoplastic lesions. The substance is relatively non-toxic during acute exposures, except for sensitisation and irritation. As this substance does not show characteristics of a carcinogen, a carcinogenicity study is not indicated.
