First-aid measures

Inhalation: Move to fresh air. Oxygen or artificial respiration if needed. Call a physician or Poison Control Center immediately.

Skin contact: Wash off with polyethylene glycol and afterwards with plenty of water. Remove contaminated clothes and shoes. Immediate medical treatment necessary as untreated skin corrosions are slow and bad healing wounds.

Eye contact: Immediately wash affected eyes for at least 15 minutes under running water with eyelids held open,

consult an eye specialist.

Ingestion: Rinse mouth. Do not induce vomiting. If swallowed, seek medical advice immediately and show this container or label.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media: Carbon dioxide (CO2). Alcohol-resistant foam. Dry powder. Water spray

Specific hazards: Flammable. Fire may cause SOx to evolve. Vapours may form explosive mixtures with air. Vapours are heavier than air.

Special protective equipment for firefighters: Standard procedure for chemical fires. In the event of fire, wear self contained breathing apparatus. Complete suit protecting against chemicals.

Specific methods: Water mist may be used to cool closed containers. Use waterspray to allow gasses/vapours to escape. Water used to extinguish fire should not enter drainage systems, soil or stretches of water.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions: Use personal protective equipment. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Do not breathe vapours/dust. Remove all sources of ignition.

Environmental precautions:

Discharge into the environment must be avoided. Suppress gases/vapours/mists with water spray

jet. Retain and dispose of contaminated wash water.

Methods for cleaning up or taking up: Soak up with inert absorbent material (e.g. sand, silica gel, acid binder, universal binder, sawdust). Sweep up and shovel into suitable containers for disposal.
