Administrative data

First-aid measures

Inhalation:    If you feel unwell, seek medical advice. Remove the victim from danger zone, avoid further exposure.

Skin Contact:    Remove contaminated clothing. Rinse contaminated skin immediately with plenty of water and soap and seek medical advice.

Eye Contact:    Immediately rinse eyes thoroughly with running water as long as possible (approx. 15 min). Take injured quickly to factory medical center or call an ambulance (code word: eye accident).

Ingestion:   Only as long as the patient is fully conscious: wash mouth and have the victim drink copious amounts of water (often vomiting will be

induced). Consult a physician immediately or call for an ambulance and show label.

Notes to Physician:   Treatment is essentially supportive and symptomatic.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable Extinguishing Media:  Water spray or fog, foam, dry chemical powder, CO2, dry sand

Unsuitable Extinguishing Media:  No restrictions

Protective equipment for firefighters:  Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and fire protective suite.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions: Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing.

Environmental precautions: Must not be released into sewers, drains or wells.

Methods for cleaning: Transfer large quantities into a container, rinse the rest with plenty of water.

Handling and storage

Storage and Handling Precautions:  Open handling without suitable personal protective equipment must be avoided. Keep container tightly closed. Store container in cool and dry place. Avoid formation of dust.

Technical Measures:   Provide exhaust ventilation system in case of open handling.

Preventive Precautions (fire/explosion):  Avoid formation of dust. Use only in well-ventilated areas.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Industrial Hygiene:

The personal protective measures may be adapted appropriately when working in closed systems or under laboratory conditions.

Regular cleaning of equipment, work area and clothing.

Controlled general ventilation or LEV (Local Exhaust Ventilation) mainly based on GMP requirements.

Internal working procedures available to personnel convering personal hygiene, standard cleaning, waste disposal and maintenance.

Personnel instructed and trained, regular refresher training established.

Double wardrobe must be available.

Disposal considerations

Disposal Requirements:   Incineration in an approved, controlled furnace with combustion gas scrubbing and emission gas control.
