Additional information

Acute tests on all three trophic levels have been performed on the two major constituents of the substance. Additionally, chronic tests on aquatic invertebrates are available for both constituents.

Of the two constituents, the minor constituent DEA, which is present at a maximum of 25%, is most toxic to aquatic organisms. From this the short term toxicity value to fish is estimated to be >1300 mg/L. The acute toxicity to daphnia is estimated to >55 mg/L based on a test with DEA. From a chronic Daphnia test with DEA, a NOEC of 3 mg/L is estimated for the multiconstituent substance.

Acute toxicity to algae is estimated to >8 mg/l for the multiconstituent substance, based on the value for DEA. No NOEC for toxicity to algae could be established.

EC10 for microorganisms is > 1000 mg/L based on an activated sludge respiration inhibition test with DEA.
