Description of key information

The adsorption/desorption coefficients of this complex reaction product were calculated according to Gerstl (1990), Briggs (1981) and Nendza (1998) based on the experimental values of n-octanol/water partition coefficient.
A range of adsorption/desorption coefficient values was obtained: 1.97 to 3.0, 93.5% of the components have Log Koc ranged from 2.7 to 3.0.
The highest log Koc value was considered as a worst-case value for the CSA.

Additional information

The adsorption/desorption coefficients of this complex reaction product (Ethoxylated bisphenol A diacrylate) were calculated according to Gerstl (1990), Briggs (1981) and Nendza (1998) based on the experimental values of n-octanol/water partition coefficient.

A range of adsorption/desorption coefficient values was obtained: 1.97 to 3.0, 93.5% of the components have Log Koc ranged from 2.7 to 3.0.

The components with log Koc values between 2.7 and 3.0 being the most abundant (93.5%), the highest log Koc value (3.0) in this range was used for chemical safety assessment (CSA) and for the derivation of Predicted No-Effect Concentrations (PNEC) in sediments and soil.

This value was considered as a worst-case value, increase of adsorption/desorption coefficient value leading to a significant increase of the PEC soil value.
