Two screening test were performed to assess the biodegradability of the test substance in water. In the first test, a biodegradation of 21% was reached at Day 28.In the second test, a biodegradation of 20% was also reached at Day 28. The test was extended up to Day 60. A biodegradation of 61% was obtained at this date.

one used non-adapted activated sludge as source of inoculum whereas
non-adapted river water was used in the second.
The test item
attained 21% and 20% of biodegradation after 28 days, respectively. The
second test was extended and a biodegradation of 61% were reached at Day
60, respectively. Therefore, the test item cannot be considered to be
readily biodegradable under the strict terms and conditions of OECD 301B
and D testing guidelines. However, the biodegradation continued after
Day 28 to reach value higher than 60% indicating a high potential for
ultimate biodegradation. Therefore, the test item was considered to be
inherently biodegradable and fulfilling specific criteria.
