Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Test material

Constituent 1
Chemical structure
Reference substance name:
Dibenzyldimethylammonium chloride
EC Number:
202-903-7
EC Name:
Dibenzyldimethylammonium chloride
Cas Number:
100-94-7
Molecular formula:
C16H20N.Cl
IUPAC Name:
dibenzyldimethylammonium chloride
Test material form:

Sampling and analysis

Analytical monitoring:
yes
Details on sampling:
Analysis of the test media samples was conducted on fresh media at 0 hours and on corresponding old media at 72 hours. Measured test concentrations were determined from samples of test solution from each treatment and control group.

Test solutions

Vehicle:
no
Details on test solutions:
The test concentration was prepared by dissolving the appropriate weight of test
substance in 1000 mL of OECD medium by short agitation. Following preparation, all the test solutions were checked for the tyndall effect using
a Hach 2100 N turbidity meterr. The turbidity meter confirmed that there was no dispersed test substance present and therefore the test solution was used to prepare the remaining test solutions

Test organisms

Test organisms (species):
Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata (previous names: Raphidocelis subcapitata, Selenastrum capricornutum)
Details on test organisms:
The test organism, Raphidocelis subcapitata (Strain 278/4; formerly known as
Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata), was originally obtained from the Culture Collection
of Algae and Protozoa (CCAP), Oban, UK and is a representative species of the freshwater aquatic phytoplankton.
