Description of key information

The flammability limits for dipropylene glycol methyl ether were found to be 1.1 % for the lower and 14 % for the upper flammability limit at atmospheric pressure. The flash point of dipropylene glycol methyl ether was determined to be 75 °C according to the Setaflash closed cup method.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
non flammable

Additional information

Justification for classification or non-classification

Dipropylene glycol methyl ether has a flash-point greater than 55°C (75°C) and a boiling point greater than 35°C (190°C). Therefore, no classification for flammability according to EU criteria is required.
