Additional information

One GLP Guideline study is available investigating the short-term effects of 1,3-butylene diacetate (CAS 1117-31-3) to fish (Vryenhoef, 2012). The study was performed according to OECD 203 with the rainbow trout Oncorhynchus mykiss. Test concentrations of 10, 18, 32, 56 and 100 mg/L were applied and verified analytically by GC/FID. Since measured concentrations did not differ by more than 20%, the effect concentrations were based on the nominal test concentrations. After 96 h 14% mortality was reported at a concentration of 32 mg/L, whereas 100% mortality was observed at concentrations of 56 and 100 mg/L, respectively. Thus, a LC50 (96 h) of 39 mg/L was calculated.
