Conclusion on classification

The substance "Carbohydrates and Sugars, hexitols, anhydro" was tested on fish, daphnia and algae according to the OECD methods 203, 202 and 201 respectively and in compliance with GLP. The LC50/EC50 obtained in these tests are higher than 100 mg/L.

No bioaccumulation potentiel is expected with this substance due to its very high water solubility and its hydrophilic properties.

A screening biodegradation test was performed according to OECD 301B method and in compliance with GLP. No biodegradation was observed and the substance is considered as not readily biodegradable.

Taking into account the above properties, no acute toxicity, no bioaccumulation and not readily biodegradable the substance "Carbohydrates and Sugars, hexitols, anhydro" is not classified for the environment according to the CLP regulation 1272/2008.
