PBT assessment: overall result

PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

Based on the results of a ready biodegradation test, the substance is considered as persistent. Since the substance shows a very high solubility in water and consequently hydrophilic properties, a bioaccumulation potential is not expected. The substance did not show toxicity at 100 mg/L on fish, daphnia and algae in acute tests. It is not classified for mutagenicity, carcinogenicity and reprotoxicity. Moreover there was no toxic effect reported in acute oral and dermal toxicity studies in rat and in the repeated dose toxicity study OECD 422 where rats were exposed until 1000 mg/kg/d. Therefore the substance is not Toxic.

In conclusion the substance is persistent, not bioaccumulable and not toxic. So it is neither PBT nor vPvB.
