Additional information

In a 72-hour algal growth study, cultures of Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata were exposed to 2-(2-Hexyloxyethoxy)ethanol at geometric mean measured concentrations of 0 (control), 1.46, 2.82, 9.65, 33.97 and 100.27 mg/L under static conditions in accordance with the OECD 201 guideline and under GLP (BASF SE, 2021; report no. 60E0091/20E006).
The test concentrations were analytically controlled and deviated markedly from the nominal concentrations (especially the lower concentrations); therefore, the effect concentration are based on the mean measured concentrations.
The results in this study are consistent with all validity criteria and the test is valid according to the guidelines of this study.
The 72- ErC10 was determined to be 9.76 mg/L (meas.). The 72-h ErC50 was 27.0 mg/L (meas.).

It can be concluded that the substance is acutely harmful to algae. Long-term effects are not to be expected (EC10 > 1 mg/L).
