Endpoint:
toxicity to aquatic algae and cyanobacteria
Type of information:
(Q)SAR
Adequacy of study:
key study
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
results derived from a valid (Q)SAR model and falling into its applicability domain, with adequate and reliable documentation / justification
Remarks:
The scientific validity of the (Q)SAR model has been established in accordance with the OECD Principles for (Q)SAR Model Validation.
Justification for type of information:
QSAR prediction
Principles of method if other than guideline:
ECOSAR v1.11
QMRF and QPRF are attached in IUCLID
GLP compliance:
not specified
Test organisms (species):
other: green algae
Duration:
96 h
Dose descriptor:
EC50
Effect conc.:
130 000 mg/L
Remarks on result:
other: using the estimated KOWWIN LogKow of -2.91

Supporting documentation is provided in the attached QPRF and QMRF.

Validity criteria fulfilled:
yes
Conclusions:
96-hr EC50: 1.3E+05 mg/L
Executive summary:

The ECOSAR 96-hr EC50 for green algae was predicted to be 1.3E+05 mg/L.

The ECOSAR Neutral Organics Green Algae 96-h EC50 is a valid model in accordance with the OECD principles. An evaluation of its training set was made for the purposes of evaluating the applicability domain. The test substance satisfies the structural domain of the KOWWIN model that is used to derive the LogKow input variable. The test substance satisfies the descriptor range as defined by the MW range of the training set. The test substance satisfies the mode of action as being a neutral organic as determined by the OECD Toolbox v3.0. Thus the test substance satisfies the applicability domain requirement of this model. Adequate documentation has been provided by way of the QPRF and the associated QMRF for 'ECOSAR Neutral Organics Green Algae 96-h' model.
