Description of key information

ADONA is not readily biodegradable.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

ADONA is an ammonium salt of a highly fluorinated oxoacid. The ammonium cation is subject to nitrification. However, ADONA was tested in an OECD301B (Modified Sturm) assay, which measures carbon dioxide evolution and does not detect nitrification. The biodegradation result therefore applies to the anion. The observed result, 3-9% CO2 / ThCO2, is not significant. ADONA is not readily biodegradable.
