Conclusions:
In an OECD confirmatory test, the degradation of Reaction product of lauryl-PDA/lauryl-DETA with chloroacetic acid (5 and 10 mg a.i./L using industrial adapted sludge) was determined to be 98%.
Executive summary:

The degradation of Reaction product of lauryl-PDA/lauryl-DETA with chloroacetic acid was studied in an OECD confirmatory test.

Two model activated sludge units with industrial sludge were run in parallel. After an adaptation phase of 2 weeks (1 and 2 mg a.i./L) the concentration of the test item was increased to 10 or 20 mg a.i./L, respectively. The units were run for 8 weeks.

The degradation of the test item was determined using the Orange II method (Few, A. V., Ottewill, R. H.: J. Colloid. Sci, 11 (1956) 34; Scott, G. V.: Anal. Chem., 40 (1968) 768).

The mean degradation was determined based on daily relative elimination of the test item starting after the adaptation phase for 21 consecutive days. The mean daily degradation rate was 98%.
