Reference
Endpoint:
solubility in organic solvents / fat solubility
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
test procedure in accordance with generally accepted scientific standards and described in sufficient detail
Qualifier:
no guideline followed
Principles of method if other than guideline:
A quantity of 1.601 2 g of the test substance was mixed with 4 mL n-octanol in a test tube and stirred for 75 minutes. After phase separation by centrifugation (7000 g, 25 ± 1°C), the clear yellow coloured saturated n-octanol layer was analysed (after 10 x dilution) by means of UV spectrophotometry at 257 nm using a calibration curve.
GLP compliance:
yes
Medium:
n-octanol
Solubility:
76.9 g/L
Temp.:
25 °C
Test substance stable:
yes

A quantity of 1.6012 g of the test substance was mixed with 4 ml n-octanol in a test tube and stirred for 75 minutes. After phase separation by centrifugation, the clear yellow coloured saturated n-octanol layer was analysed by means of UV spectrophotometry.

The concentration of the active ingredient in the n-octanol layer was determined to be 76.9 mg/ml.

Conclusions:
The solubility of Reaction product of lauryl-PDA/lauryl-DETA with chloroacetic acid in n-octanol was determined to be 76.9 g/L at 25°C.

Description of key information

solubility in in n-octanol: 76.9 g/L at 25°C

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Solubility in organic solvents at 20°C:
76.9 g/L

Additional information

The solubility of Reaction product of lauryl-PDA/lauryl-DETA with chloroacetic acid in n-octanol was determined to be 76.9 g/L at 25°C.
