Measured data on aquatic tocicity are not available for the "reaction mass of butane and butene". Due to the practical difficulties associated with the ecotoxicity testing of gases (i.e. maintaining exposure concentrations) the use of QSAR toxicity estimates for the single components is an appropriate alternative. Based on these QSAR calculations green algae is the most sensitive organism (EC50 (96 h) values range from 7.7 mg/L to 10.6 mg/L). For daphnids LC50 (48 h) values between 14.2 mg/L and 22.1 mg/L were calculated and fish showed LC50 (96 h) values between 24.1 mg/L and 39.0 mg/L.
