A tube was placed in a water bath set at a temperature of 38°C and allowed to stabilise for 10 minutes.
After temperature stabilisation is complete, the rubber bung on the tube was removed to allow the liquid sample to
flow. A stop watch was used to time the flow between the graduation marks below and above the
bulbous section of the tube.

A quality control sample of MK92K was required to undergo a Viscosity
of Liquids assessment using a U-tube method to aid REACH registration of the substance.

Description of key information

 A viscosity assessment  has shown repeatable results (Table 1). The average viscosity of MK92K was 47.9 cSt at 38°C.
