Description of key information

The 96-hour LC50 for Oncorhynchus mykiss exposed to Ethanethiol was 2.4 mg/L, with 95% confidence limits of 1.7 and 3.0 mg/L. The 96-hour no mortality concentration was 1.7 mg/L. Based on clinical signs of toxicity observed in the 1.7 mg/L treatment group, the NOEC was <1.7 mg/L.

Drottar (1999) is GLP compliant with exceptions of characterisation of test substance and stability of test substance under conditions of storage. The study follows OECD guideline 203 in a 96 hour test on Oncorhynchus mykiss and is considered to be reliable and suitable for use as the key study for this endpoint.
