Endpoint:
boiling point
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
2009-01-06 - 2009-02-20
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
other: The GLP study was conducted according to an internationally accepted guideline. All study parameters are based on the specific guideline.
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 103 (Boiling point/boiling range)
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Type of method:
method according to Siwoloboff
Boiling pt.:
270.7 °C
Atm. press.:
1 013 hPa
Decomposition:
yes
Decomp. temp.:
270.7 °C
Conclusions:
The boiling point of N-[(3(5)-Methyl-1 H-pyrazol-1 -yl)-methyl]acetamide was determined according to OECD guideline 103. A change in colour was observed, which is taken as sign for decomposition. As in two in¬dependent determinations, very similar boiling points were found, there are no doubts that the study is valid.
Therefore, the boiling point should be stated as 270.7 C (543.8 K) under decomposition.
Executive summary:

The boiling point of N-[(3(5)-Methyl-1 H-pyrazol-1 -yl)-methyl]acetamide was determined according to OECD guideline 103.

A change in colour was observed, which is taken as sign for decomposition. As in two independent determinations, very similar boiling points were found, there are no doubts that the study is valid. Therefore, the boiling point should be stated as 270.7 C (543.8 K) under decomposition.
