Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Autoflammability / Self-ignition temperature at 101 325 Pa:
190 °C

Additional information

A study was conducted (BASF AG 1993, SIK-Nr. 93/0092) according to Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 Part A, A.15 to determine the auto-ignition temperature. The auto-ignition temperature was determined to be 190°C. This value is supplemented by two independent literature values. The National Fire Protection Association reports the auto-ignition temperature to be 255 °C and the Hommel handbook database reports the auto-ignition temperature to be 190 °C. Two of three values are in the same range. The experimental determined value of 190 °C was regards as worst case. Therefore for safety precautions the experimental value was regarded as most reliable, as in the study information about the purity was provided. Therefore 190 °C was chosen as key value for chemical safety assessment.
