Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

-6 °C

Additional information

A study was conducted (BASF AG 1993, SIK-Nr. 93/0092) according to Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 Part A, A.9 to determine the flash point. Using the closed cup method according to DIN 51755 the flash point was determined to be -6°C. This value is supplemented by two independent literature values. The National fire Protection association reports the flash point to be -9°C and the GESTIS database reports the flash point to be -12 °C. All three values are in the same range. Therefore the experimental value was regarded as most reliable, as in the study information about the purity was provided. Therefore -6 °C was chosen as key value for chemical safety assessment.
