Vapour pressure [chloro(dimethyl)vinylsilane]: 9500 Pa at 20°C, 12000 Pa at 25°C and 22000 Pa at 40°C (EU Method A.4)
Vapour pressure [dimethyl(vinyl)silanol]: 250 Pa at 25°C (QSAR).

Additional information

The vapour pressure of chloro(dimethyl)vinylsilane has been determined using isoteniscope method in accordance with EU Method A.4 and OECD 104 test method and in compliance with GLP. Vapour pressure values at 20°C, 25°C, 30°C, 40°C and 50°C of 9500 Pa, 12000 Pa, 15000 Pa, 22000 Pa and 32000 Pa respectively were extrapolated from a temperature range of 58 - 73°C. The result is considered to be reliable and selected as key study. The key study was supported by a vapour pressure of 8900 Pa at 20°C which was determined for the substance using dynamic method according to EU Method A.4 test method. In a secondary source to which reliability could not be assigned, a vapour pressure of 82000 Pa at 20°C was reported for the submission substance. The results are in reasonable agreement with the key study.

In contact with water, chloro(dimethyl)vinylsilane reacts very rapidly to form dimethyl(vinyl)silanol and hydrochloric acid. The vapour pressure of the silanol hydrolysis product [dimethyl(vinyl)silanol] was determined to be 250 Pa at 25°C using an appropriate QSAR estimation method.
