Description of key information

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Skin sensitisation

Endpoint conclusion
Endpoint conclusion:
no study available
Additional information:

Chloro(dimethyl)vinylsilane hydrolyses rapidly in contact with water and moist air, releasing one mole of hydrogen chloride (HCl) for each mole of parent material. It is therefore classified as corrosive and sensitisation testing is not appropriate.

Migrated from Short description of key information:
There are no reliable sensitisation data. However, in accordance with Column 2 of REACH Annex VII, the in vivo skin sensitisation study (required in Section 8.3) does not need to be conducted as the available information indicates that the substance meets the criteria for classification as corrosive to skin.

Justification for classification or non-classification

In the absence of appropriate measured data, the substance is not classified for sensitisation to skin or the respiratory tract according to Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008.
