Additional information

Data for short-term toxicity to fish, Daphnia and algae have been read-across from the structurally similar substances trimethylsilanol (CAS 1066-40-6), in which the vinyl group (-CH=CH2) is replaced by a methyl group (-CH3), and trimethoxy(vinyl)silane (CAS 2768-02-7), which contains the vinyl group and three methoxy groups. The L(E)C50 results for fish, Daphnia and algae are 271 mg/l, 124 mg/l and >684 mg/l respectively. These data suggest that the most susceptible trophic level is aquatic invertebrates.

Data waivers are applicable to long-term aquatic toxicity data.

A 3hr ASRI EC10 value of >100 mg/l (loading rate) (OECD 209) has been read across from a structurally-related substance for the toxicity to microorganisms endpoint.
