Additional information

In accordance with Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006, Annex VII, Section 7.11, Column 2, testing for explosive properties is not considered to be required for barium dichloride. Barium dichloride is considered to be “inert” in the context of explosivity, since it is void of any chemical structures commonly associated with explosive properties, such as metal peroxides, peroxo-acid-anions, azides, and halogen oxides. Furthermore, long-term industrial experience in practical handling of barium dichloride shows that it is not explosive.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Barium dichloride does not need to be classified forexplosive propertiesaccording to Directive 67/548 EEC and CLP Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 as these are considered to be non-relevant based on the lack of functional groups.
