Additional information

The following physico-chemical properties of barium dichloride were studied by appropriate testing:

(i) melting point,

(ii) granulometry and dustiness testing,

(iii) pH in artificial gastric fluid.

The results of the studies are reported in respective endpoint summaries and study records.

For several endpoints, the information requirements were waived due to the intrinsic properties of barium chloride based on the criteria as laid down in Regulation (EC) 1907/2008 and ECHA guidance.

Other endpoints (i.e., density and water solubility) were addressed with handbook data and/or long-term experience in handling. These handbook data are considered to be from a trusted source according to "ECHA, Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment – Chapter R.7a: Endpoint specific guidance (December 2013)". Therefore, these data were considered reliable.
