Description of key information

There are no valid test data on acute toxicity to daphnia available.
An existing OECD 202 study with dodecyl methacrylate was considered as invalid, because it was performed with the solvent

acetone and test concentrations were several orders of magnitude higher than the water solubility.
As a consequence of the very low water solubility of the long-chain methacrylate esters (C12 – C22) which is < 1 µg/l, a long-term toxicity test with daphnia was performed instead of an acute test (see below).
