Description of key information

Flash point: 51 to 86°C

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

In accordance with Section 1 of REACH Annex XI, the study does not need to be conducted as the flammability of liquids is assessed by reference to the flash point (Section 7.9). There is no indication on the basis of structure or experience in handling and use that the substance is flammable in contact with air or water.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Reliable flash points of 51, 68 and 86°C have been recorded; the boiling point is 221°C.

The flash point of 51°C indicates the following classifications:

Classification and Labelling according to Directive 67/548/: R10: Flammable

Classification and Labelling according to Regulation 1272/2008: Flam. Liq. 3, H226: Flammable Liquid and Vapour.

The flash points of 68 and 86°C indicate that no classification for flammability is needed.
